Thanks for the update. It seems to work for the most part. However, there
is something going on that I don't understand, but that is clearly related
to the new sca3.dll. I have a dynamically loaded subvi built into an
executable w/ the application builder, that initially connects to 140-150
pvs by individual cache_getbyname() calls (I'm aware this isn't the fastest
way, but it's convenient the way the rest of my vi is structured). With the
new sca3.dll, I consistently get an error return code 852482 for several
pvs initially (which I believe translates to 13<<16, SCA_CANNOT_GET;2<<8
SCA_NEVER_CONNECTED; 2<<0 SCA_NO_VALUE). In addition, I get a message from
LabVIEW (v5.1) that "Memory is full. Stopping vi ...". If I restart the
subvi after it quits abnormally, everything seems ok - no error codes and I
get the values ok! Curiously, I don't have this problem on the NT Server in
our network. It does occur on every one of the three NT WKS machines I've
tried (each with more available RAM than the Server). I'm wildly
speculating that you increased some internal data structure and I'm now
running into an internal NT limit that's different in NT WKS and Server. I
was wondering if you could comment on whether this has any basis in
reality, and if so, have any suggestion as to what parameter I might play
with. I tried changing the Server service on the Server machine to match
the NTWKS defaults, but with no change.
