I have been working on one. I'll try to put it in the epics documentation area

There were complaints that the files would fill the disk when alh 
was continuously running for long periods of time and that the old
records in the file were not useful.

Use the "-m 0"  command line option.

There was a bug fix for STATCOMMAND committed on 7/1/98. You may not
have the latest version of alh.

I'll have to add a "silence forever"ed feature.
