Dear MEDM Gurus
I am using a special record developed at JLab to control LeCroy
1458 High Voltage mainframes and associated modules. This record and its
associated support works very well. However, the record definition doesn't
include a .PREC field. This seems to produce the result, when I display
the voltages and currents in a medm gui in "decimal" format, that I only
see integer values. Unfortunately, the first (and sometimes second)
decimal place in the voltage and/or current contains information that I
would like to see. If I just add a .PREC field to this record and give it
a value of 1 or 2, will medm "do the right thing" ? Please note: This
special record does not make use of the .VAL field. Instead, the values of
interest are stored in other fields (essentially .VOLTAGE and .CURRENT)
which I display in the medm gui. So I am really asking if the .PREC field
will influence the display of these other fields in the record.
yours,
Steve Pate
