I am using MEDM's cartesian object  to display waveform records.  My data
source is a CAMAC digitizer,  and the waveform's y-axis is scaled for the
raw bit counts.  I've tried to "scale" the data into engineering units in
several ways,  all unsuccessful.  It is important to me that the scale
factors reside in the database for (permanent) data archiving purposes.

1)  Is there a "standard" way to scale waveform data in the database ?
2)   Is the genSub record a good solution ?  If so, where is the most recent
version ?
3)  Does a change to the waveform record to add X and Y linear scaling
fields make sense ?
4)  Should I just do things using a (CA) program on my host computer ?

Advice is welcome.
