Subject: Two COMP record questions.

Hello All.

I use the Ring Buffer option for several COMP records to record the last 20
minutes of measured and calculated values, such as the PEP-II Ring Current,
DI/DT, Lifetime, and linear Fit to the Current data. Using these records as
opposed to a Strip Chart being fed the raw data allows displays to "come up"
with 20 minutes worth of data at the onset.

Question 1:

How do I easily "fill" a COMP record so that the initial updates appear from the
right, instead of starting on the left? After an IOC reboot people look in the
wrong place now.

Question 2:

For the Fit data, I need to "erase" the data corresponding to early times if the
fit time base shifts due to a change in lifetime. I use the Fit Data to overlay
the Ring Current display and highlight the data currently used for calculating
lifetimes. Each fit point is fed into the Ring Buffer just like the ring current
data normally. By doing a PvGET of the fit data, zeroing the parts I don't want
any more, then doing a PvPUT, the resulting data in the COMP record seems very
erratic.

Thanks in advance.
