I looked at the vxWorks drivers for this several years ago (in the lbl
pre-epics era) and WRS did not include a way to diddle parity (and a
couple of other things, IIRC) in the ioctls.  I think I decided that
I would have to write a seperate function to "fix" the uart control
register.  Then "The Word" came down that the Bevelac was doomed and
the interest in getting the project which required this feature going
vanished.

I seem to recall that I couldn't find a "clean" way to do this, as we
didn't have the source to the applicable code.  At one time we could
easily get any source we needed, but WRS had grown beyond that point.

One wonders what the author was thinking when he/she ignored these
options; it's not like all serial devices speak the same dialect!
Must have been written on a Monday or a Friday.  Like a lot of my
stuff seems to be....
