Aloha Pete,

(Am copying this note to tech talk as a FYI)

As per your notes at <http://www.uni.aps.anl.gov/controls> I 
was able to build et_wish for solaris (2.5.x).  Thanks to you
and Perry McGehee re: the info and pointing us in the right 
direction.  I was remiss in not studying the notes in the tech-talk 
archive which point in the same direction also.

Bill Cruise was able to build a postgress version (et_pg_wish?)
of tcl/tk/ca interface which we have been able to use successfully
as the CA layer in our user interfaces. This was prior to 
Perry's response to my queries which pointed me to your notes
at <http://www.uni.aps.anl.gov/controls> which in turn solved
the et_wish build problems.

I have not tested et_wish on solaris to my satisfaction yet and
have not built it for hpux which is where we run our user 
interfaces (tcl/tk).

ASIDE:
As Bill Cruise indicated (look for his notes re: Channel Access
problems) our applications run reliably after we re-compiled 
them using the CA libraries under R3.13.
