We are presently considering the following options:
Use StateCad : Good quality product, has verification, but only runs
on PC (at the moment we are mainly running Unix, but that may soon
change), also has Licensing/distribution issues for our users (Capfast
again!), who are not all within PSI.
Look for another tool, running on Unix and PC, perhaps supporting
1131-3 standard, ideally free-ware. Some of the case tools could be
suitable, but generally are seen as being rather complex to use.
Build a tool: based on 1131-3 or OMT state diagrams.
We will probably spend a few days on the third option - to see if it is
feasible. We would prefer to have a tool that is very simple to use,
will run on all platforms, does not have licensing restrictions, and can
be easily customized or extended.
