Hi,
I've been using Mark River's generic vme record for prototyping
hardware and for supporting hardware that is going through drastic
revisions.
One field that I would like to add to the vme record is
a base address field or an offset field. We have cards
that move around frequently and the notion of a base address coupled with
a fanout record can be used to conveniently change the base address.
Some of the cards use geographics addressing and several cards are
interchanged which have a hard-wired address. The memory locations that
are necessary to access often aren't contiguous, so I have generic vme
records at key control registers.
I have made already made the modifications to the vmeRecord to
support a BADR field for the base address, however, some revisions will be
necessary.
Would anyone else find a base address field useful for their
applications? Anyone opposed?
Regards,
Jeff
