John,

I guess I was assuming that you and Jeff set EPICS_CA_ADDR_LIST on
the local node to be 127.0.0.1 and then you could run ca_test on the
same node as the server. I did do this to confirm that I was understanding
what was happening in the code and then things would work with both
pieces on the same node. Setting EPICS_CAS_INTF_ADDR_LIST, however, makes
things work both on the local node and on a remote node (at least for
my environment). There is apparently another problem running with your
version of Linux.
