All,

The only input I have to this is that William named his device type (at
least in the version I got) 'vxWorks Variable (INST_IO)', instead of
'vxWorks Variable'. I would like to name his device types the latter,
and so all you have to do is to put '@<global variable name>' into the
link field to change to the new INST_IO link, not change the device
type as well.

A bit trivial, but just a suggestion. I must admit I haven't tested it
this way, but I assume it would work.
