Aloha Mauro
What is the nature of your RS232 device? If it is a device which responds
to prompts, that is it does not send data asynchronously, then we may have
a driver that will work. The driver is drvAscii which is layered on top
of drvSerial - written for Keck observatory by Jeff Hill of LANL. The driver
is in use in several other telescopes and accelerators. The driver simplifies
our life a lot.
ftp to ftp.keck.hawaii.edu
login as anonymous
cd pub/epics
ls
Grab all the files that are in the directory - don't for get binary mode.
The files include a test database explained in the .README
