This is in fact a miserable situation. At BESSY we switched from MEDM 2.2.9
to MEDM/DESY several months ago. Convinced by the additional features we
put improvements and development effort into this version.

Clearly it is desirable to put joint efforts into a common MEDM. As soon as
the MEDM 2.3.3 sources are available we will analyse the feasibility of
merging MEDM 2.3.3 with MEDM/DESY. 

This would at least resync the CA based MEDM. It leaves open the question
of how to (re)incorporate the activities dealing with the conversion of
MEDM/CA to MEDM/CDEV.
