Hi Ralph -

I use NFS. Also, see Marty's "Big Database -> Slow Boot" mail in the
April archive.

Yes, I need to use more templates.

Here are my statistics:
CPU: NI-Cpu-030 (16 MB)
OS: vxWorks 5.2
EPICS: 3.13.0.beta4
Database: 1061 soft and 825 hardware records
(sums up to 1886 records; 6.1 MB of allocated memory)
Seq: 10 state sets
Load: ~35% (when idle)
Boot up: reboot until iocInit 3:10 min
iocInit 2:50 min
after iocInit 1:00 min
(sequences and save/restore monitor sets)
(Note: my iocInit takes long because it has to set up 9 special VXI modules
involving file IO to load DSPs, etc)
Obviously I have work to do to speed up my boots.
Ralph, thanks very much for the useful information!
