The links you might be interested in are
SDDS tools
   and
SDDS Compliant EPICS tools.

Mike wrote the tcl/tk application SaveCompareRestore (our
configuration archiving application) which uses SDDS
extensively.  However we don't have documentation except the
tcl code itself and (I think) brief descriptions in conference
proceedings.

We also have an automated data logging system that also uses
SDDS extensively. There is no documentation on this.
