I should clarify that the existing VxWorks device support uses input
and output link types of CONSTANT and ignores the PARM field (the name
of the VxWorks variable is derived solely from the record name). The
new support uses a link type of INST_IO and parses the PARM field to
determine the VxWorks variable name. The new support also supports a
link type of CONSTANT and should be completely backwards-compatible with
the existing support.
