I think EPICS maintaining links to the most recent official distribution may
not be sufficient, because the most recent official version may not allow
the epics applications to build.
I am grateful to both
Steve Lewis and Peter Jemian for giving me pointers to compatible sets of
tcl,tk, blt, and Dp.
Perhaps Bakul might be able to put Steve's tcl set at Argonne, or if Steve
would promise not to change the files give a link to Steve's site
for getting tcl/tk which will build epics without change.
Then if Peter, or the unknown maintainer of et_wish is able to upgrade
to newer version of tcl-tk, then these could also be stored at Argonne
or some safe place.
I think I will be able to build the extensions now.
Thanks to everyone who answered my question.
