			 SECOND ANNOUNCEMENT
			 -------------------

The second European EPICS Meeting will be held the 9th, 10th and 11th of 
September in France in the Maison d'Hote at Gif-sur-Yvette under the 
auspices of CEA Saclay. The Maison d'Hote (Guest House) is located 28 rue 
Alphonse Pecard in the small city of Gif-sur-Yvette (in short Gif).

Registration is expected before the end of August. The number of 
participants is strictly limited to 40. A fee of 200 French Francs (around 
35 to 40 US$) will be asked as a participation towards expenses for the 
lunches and coffee breaks. The paiement  will be made by cash at the Guest 
House (French participants will pay in advance by check).

HOTELS
======

Following is a list of recommended hotels. Except the last one, they are 
all located in the 5th Arrondissement of Paris (5th District). This area is 
well served by the "RER line B" public transportation (Regional 
Expressway). This RER line is the easiest and cheapest connection and -very 
often- the fastest one between this area and the meeting location. It is 
worth to note that RER line B is also in connection with the two Paris 
international airports. All these hotels are close to the Luxembourg RER 
station (located on St Michel Boulevard in front of the Luxembourg 
Garden) or the Port-Royal station (upper part of St Michel Boulevard). Avoid 
St Michel station which is a complicated and crowded railway intersection.

The 5th Arrondissement is a very lively area with some major places as 
Notre-Dame Cathedral, the quays of Seine river, Quartier Latin  etc...

TRANSPORTATION
===============

Roissy Ch de Gaulle Airport -> Paris 5th District
	RER line B. Stop at Luxembourg Station. (40 minutes ride)

Orly Airport -> Paris 5th District
	First OrlyVal Train, then RER line B (single ticket). Stop at 
Luxembourg Station. (30 minutes ride)

Paris 5th District -> Guest House Gif-sur-Yvette
	RER line B : from Luxembourg Station take direction Saint-Remy-Les-
Chevreuse. The Gif-sur-Yvette station is one of the last of the line. (40 
minutes ride)

Take the subway and go straight ahead for a walk of 300 meters. The Guest 
House is located on the right side of the street.
