At Keck we use a Keithley Metrabyte serial to digital module (~$200)
connected to a terminal server. The output signals are connected directly
to the reset signals on VME buses. This provides a means of resetting a
subset of upto 8 systems per module. Each module can be set to have a
unique address so multiple modules can exist on a single serial line.
We find this very handy as we often need to reset systems when nobody
is at the telescopes (ie. during inclement weather or early morning).
