I normally use the Sequence record for this purpose.  The Wait record
is really best when you have to wait for some (combination of) EPICS
process variable(s) to satisfy some condition.  For example, "when A
and B are both nonzero while C is less than D, get E and write it to F"
--that kind of thing.
