I am not sure that it has been announced on
tech-talk that the decision was recently made to
change the make file format used by 3.13 base from
what you have seen in the past in Makefile.Unix
to a new OS independent and more compact format -
Makefile.Host. This has allowed us to build EPICS
base under windows {NT, 95} (using the WIN32 API).
Since the original RULES.Unix file remains in the config
directory it is still possible to use existing Makefile.Unix
make files outside of base. Most of the other config
files work with either make file format.
