Hi Garrett -
>Is anyone using or thinking of using touch screens with EPICS?
We use touch screens on NCDs for our other control system and they
also work for our EPICS DM displays. A finger can be used instead
of MB1 for things like bringing up another display, running a script,
selecting a new state on a choice button, and putting focus on a text
entry so a new value can be typed in from the keyboard. EDD/DM also
has exit and print buttons which we put on every display. Deb
added the toggle button which we use instead of choice buttons for binary
outs. We try to minimize the use of MB3 on all displays (ie, we don't
use the menu selection button much).
Unfortunately, on most of my displays, I've not made my boxes big
enough so we'll have to do some resizing. Also, the DM channel-name
popup still requires the mouse.
