Subject: Removing default values from a .db file generated by e2db

Hello -

I'm using EPICS R3.13.0.beta4. My databases are generated from CAPFAST
schematics. I'm using the edif-to-db tool (e2db) developed at LANL.
This tool works fine except that the .db files that it generates also
include all the default values. I'm looking for a way to strip out
those unnecessary defaults so that my ASCII files are smaller and
my IOCs boot a bit faster. One way is to import the .db files into
GDCT and then resave it - GDCT strips out the defaults. But I don't
see a way to automate this. I also haven't figured out how to use
dbst for this purpose.

Has anybody solved this problem already? Thanks very much for any help,

Stephanie Allison
