There have been a number of cas/gdd bugs fixed since beta1 
which are not in beta4. These fixes are in CVS at APS waiting 
on the next beta release (which will most likely occur in the 
next few weeks).

Hopefully the little-endian byte swap will be in gdd at that 
time.

Note that none of the changes in libcas.a and libgdd.a have any 
effect on the rest of EPICS 3.13 because these libraries will
not be used in any way used by the core parts of EPICs until 3.14.
In fact, they are not even build by default in the beta releases.

The GNU compilers have been used to build the 3.13 beta releases
on sunos 4, solaris 2, HPUX, and win{NT,95}. We are not feeling that 
confident about _all_ platforms at this point ;-)
