We are proposing to offer EPICS training at a regular interval. Our
first guess is that we will offer an introductory class once every
other month. The introductory course will consist of a four day
lecture and practical series convering:
Overview
Display Manager
Process Database
Sequencer
Alarm Manager
At the end of this class, a beginning EPICS user will be able to
create applications in the EPICS environment. They will also be
aware of the overall architecture, the range of applications that
exist, and how one would extend EPICS.

We are considering the possibility of offering classes in producing
EPICS extensions - 
Driver Writing
Writing a Channel Access Client Program
Writing a Channel Access Server Interface
EPICS installation and Building

The courses will cost $1200 per person. We will need a minimum of
5 people enrolled in each class to make it viable. We will limit
the class size to 8.

The first class will be offered the week of January 13. If we do not
have the minimum number by December 15th, we will postpone or cancel 
the offer.

Please notify me of your interest as soon as possible. Also let me
know if you have interest in any of the advanced topics - and if the interest
warrants, we will schedule a class.
