Hi all.
While trying R3.13's makeBaseApp script I noticed the following:
Under HPUX 9 /bin/sh is a strictly bourne shell, whereas /bin/posix/sh
conforms to posix standards. Under HPUX 10 these are the same (hard linked).
The 'getopts' command that a few EPICS scripts are using is built-in in the
posix shell and external for the bourne version - which makes the scripts
crash with more or less weird error messages.
I changed the scripts to use /bin/posix/sh in our local repository and keep
waiting for our upgrade to HPUX 10 (which is to happen within the next
months).
The affected scripts are:
base/bin/hp700/makeBaseApp
extensions/bin/hp700/makeExampleApp
extensions/bin/hp700/makeQuickApp
Regards,
Ralph
