Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System

I've been developing the PEP-II Injection Controller and recently 
converted (along with the other SLAC PEP-II projects) to release 13.

Doing some final (sic) modifications to a database, a few record renames,
a few deletions, and a few new records, things seemed to get out of 
phase, i.e. Examining Record A, the Edit screen told me I was looking at
Record B, and Record B said it was itself.

I saved databases under new names and played, never finding a way to 
unravel the problem. Mostly Free_GDCT got segmentation faults.

Anyway, now I've only got a good .DB file, so things still work, but I've 
lost the graphic portion. Importing and Editting hidden records seems 
little more useful than mammary glands on chickens.

I shall probably delegate the task of converting all the database stuff 
to Capfast.

Are there any helpful suggestions, or other GDCT war stories?
