FYI: Jefferson Lab (fka CEBAF) is working on a replacement logging system
which will include logging messages not to a flat file, but a time indexed
file, and will include a server capable of scanning the file for messages
of interest (e.g. messages from a specific IOC or from a specific sub-
system like RF). The logging client side will include automatic logging rate
throttle and severity thresholding. There will be a browser client which
can look at old messages, or track messages of interest as they arrive.
Look for release around Christmastime.
We will test it by trapping all IOC messages and feeding them into this
new server for the 60+ IOC's we have running, and will report results
when they look good :)
