Question on the gdl file format:

Excuse my ignorance - is the gdl file format somehow standardized?
Nearly all GPIB devices can be controlled by LabView because such type of 
files are delivered with the GPIB devices and can be included in LabView. 
If theses files could now be used to generate code to access them through 
EPICS we have made a major step forward.
(we 'only' have to translate the graphical representation of the device 
from LabView into medm format...)
