"gdl" is just developed at KEK (actually it is just several weeks old)
and is tightly coupled with current GP-IB
device support scheme. We just introduced gdl/gdc to reduce a load
of our users, who are not so familiar with C and need to use GP-IB
device in EPICS. So gdl file format has no relation with standard.

I don't use LabView currently, so I might be wrong. I guess the file you
mentioned is VI in LabView. I'm not sure if you can read VI from other
software. If you can extract information, it make it easier to use
GP-IB device in EPICS environment.

gdl/gdc was fertilized a few month ago, and was born just a few weeks ago.
It is so simple but still useful for novice users of EPICS, I think.

Thank you for your comments and questions.
