The Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility is a basic research
laboratory built to probe the nucleus of the atom to learn more abou the
quark structure of matter. In addition to the exploration of the nucleus,
Jefferson Lab works with industry to apply the lab's advanced technology.
Jefferson Lab has an opening in the accelerator controls group for a
C++ programmer to develop a variety of applications including accelerator
hardware control including feedback systems, networking, and graphics.
Initial project involvements include cdev (C++ device control framework),
a new archive system, and high level accelerator controls (beam setup
and optimization).
Requirements: 3 years experience and a demonstrated track record programming
complex packages in C++; knowledge of Unix. Experience with networking,
distributed systems, real-time systems, X windows, databases, or Java
desireable. Experience with EPICS also desireable.
