Some clarifications about making VxWorks patches for mv162 running EPICS
talking to mv162 running HIDEOS:

Because of the VxWorks licensing process, I cannot put the full VxWorks
patch tar on the Software Distribution page or on any ANL ftp area.
John says that fixes are pretty scattered to generate a 
selective patch tar file easily. 

If you need this tar and have a VxWorks license, please send me an 
e-mail. I will figure out something to get it to you.

For those of you that have been using the ANL version of vxWorks, I recommend
getting a new copy if you are running EPICS on mv162 boards.  There have been
patches and minor mods made to the BSP for the mv162 that address the use of
shared memory (so a mv162 running EPICS can talk to an mv162 running HiDEOS)
and to some of the libraries that have to do with FTP booting of the newer 
card versions, greater memory configurations and so on.

The latest official version of vxWorks at the APS is known as vxV52p1.
Just today, I made a new tar file of the entire tree that is sitting on
phoebus in /usr/local/vw/vxV52p1.tar.gz

If you need a copy and can not get to phoebus, please contact the keeper
of the software distribution area(s).  (I am not aware of who does and does 
not have licenses for what... nor do I want to know...)

Since the tar is still running as I type this, and sice I made the latest 
change this morning.  It is improbable for anyone to have the latest copy,
even if I gave you one yesterday.  So please get the latest copy if you want
to keep up to date.

For those of you following along at home, the latest alteration was to change
the cache mode in vw/config/mv162/config.h in order to disable the cache
snooping mode.
