We are running EPICS on the IRM and fully support nearly all I/O modules.
Only the swift Ai- board is currently not supported.

What do you mean by (as opposedto HiDEOS)
I do not see a HiDEOS OR IRM. The IRM I/O should be used as any other direct I/O 
hardware using EPICS driver and device support. HiDEOS to my understanding does 
deal with asynch I/O (as well as our CDI - common driver interface - does).
Driver support is not part of the current EPICS distribution but can of course be 
copied from us. The description can be obtained from:
