Yes, the EPICS extensions CaWave, ezcaIDL, and others use the dynamic link
mechanism and it works fine.  The compile and link options are platform
specific, and we really need to put these options into the CONFIG.Unix.arch
files so that each Makefile.Unix does not have platform specific switches in
it.
