If the CA channel's native type is DBF_ENUM and you fetch data type 
DBR_CTRL_ENUM via the CA client lib you will receive a list 
of strings corresponding to each of the binary states in the
database. A particular state may be selected by writing one
of the strings or its corresponding index into the field in the 
database.
