What Jeff suggests is the best way to satisfy this requirement.
The alternative of rereading the access config file is a rather
drastic measurre. It is really meant for the case in which access
rules are acutally changed without requiring ioc reboots. It
has much more overhead than what Jeff suggests.
As regards to dm (medm). Channel Access supplys a change
of access state callback. CA tools should use this callbacxk.
I know that medm uses it properly, i.e. access icons change
as access priviledge changes.
