Subject: ATTN Base Developers - base/include

The following changes will be made to the base directory structure:

1) All files in base/include will be moved to directorys under base/src.
During build public .h files will be installed into base/include
2) base/rec will disappear. The generated h files will be installed in
base/include and the database definition files (.db) into base/db

The base/include should NOT contain CVS controlled files.
These files should reside in a base/src/xxx directory and installed
into base/include. In addition the header files for menu and record
definitions should also be installed in base/include. The ascii
database definition files (.db) should be installed into base/db.

Unless someone expresses strong opposition Janet and I will do the following
next Monday:

1) Create a new directory base/src/include
2) Copy all files currently in base/include to base/src/include
3) Perform a "cvs rm" on all the .h files in base/include
4) Make an initial stab at moving as many files as possible from
base/src/include to the base/src/xxx directories where they belong.
5) Perform a cvs add on each include file that was moved.
6) Make everything build and install all necessary .h files into base/include

When we are done only a few files should remain in base/src/include. We can
decide later what to do about them.

If any base developer has made modifications to files in base/include
in the master EPICS tree at APS you may want to perform a cvs commit.
Before making the changes listed above we will perform a cvs update
on everything in base and config.
