Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System
To those interested in gdct:
I've made changes to the InterViews package so that it easily compiles
under Solaris, SunOS, and HP-UX. I attempted to make the imake build
structure of InterViews compatible with the EPICS extension build
structure so free_gdct will build easily. The object/executable file
directories now match the $HOST_ARCH convention. See the README.JBK file
when you untar this InterViews distribution. Get InterViews from here:
epics.aps.anl.gov:pub/epics/extensions/iv_epics_3.1.tar.gz.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Compiling free_gdct using this latest distribution of InterViews:
You must have the latest version of free_gdct. Get the source in the same
directory as InterViews on epics: file gdct_src.tar.gz. Make sure
to change your config/CONFIG_SITE file to point INTERVIEWS_BIN to the
correct spot. Remove the INTERVIEWS variable from all other
CONFIG_SITE.Unix* files.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here is some useful information regarding free_gdct. I changed the
fonts and page size for free_gdct with the intention of getting the print
function working. If you name the program gdct instead of free_gdct, it
should automatically look like similar to the original gdct. Here are
the changes made to free_gdct:
1) Old gdct had a drawing area of 3x3 pages (9 total pages). The free_gdct
has only one page.
2) Old gdct used a large pleasant font, free_gdct uses a tiny horrible font.
When gdct databases are brought up under free_gdct, they appear up and to the
right. This is because the free_gdct viewer see the database as 1 page
whereas gdct saw it as a 3x3 grid of pages.
