I wasn't planning on it, but what I should do per your suggestion is to
make InterViews available on the epics ftp server here at Argonne.

That is the main change I made after many trys at different things. Seems
quite trivial now, doesn't it.

Everything you've done is fine, there is a note that I read
somewhere about the new Solaris dynamic loader which I completely forgot
about until you mentioned this trouble. The note states that for the
dynamic loader to find the libraries, you must provide those links.

The exported field is stuck there until the record is deleted. This
is one of the items that most users want improved (next to the
print capability). Unfortunely the list of improvements that should
be made to GDCT to quite large and has been around for a while. GDCT
has a fairly low priority, not that it is not important, but the other
things on my list of projects are higher. I believe the ability to
unexport field is number 2 (printing being number 1) on the list.

Sorry to ramble on about GDCT like this. InterViews/Unidraw is an
interesting product and provides capabilies not found in other packages,
unfortunely it is not an active product, no more releases will be
available. Most of the developers went on to develop Fresco, the X11
official object oriented interface. Fresco is missing the Unidraw
library capabilities, making it not very useful. I am hoping to do
a little research and find a modern replacment for the InterViews/Unidraw
package and upgrade GDCT.
