the release i grabbed yesterday had two files (base tar, extensions tar)
and one directory (vxWorks).  inside the directory were a README file
and a config tar.  the README had the quote i referenced in my earlier post.

in the EPICS file config/mv167/config.h, for example, the last WRS
modification date is:
> 01x,22feb93,ccc  added NV_CPU_SPEED constant for board speed,
>                  removed SYS_CPU_FREQ (not used).

in my WRS 5.2 release, the last modification date is:
> 02b,11apr94,vin  excluded enp and excelan drivers as onboard ethernet present

this occurs in the files MakeSkel, Makefile, Makefile.MC68040gnu,
config.h (rev 01x vs 02b), mv167.h (rev 01k vs 01l), romInit.s (01l vs 01n),
symTbl.c, sysALib.s (rev 01j vs 01k), sysLib.c (02d vs 02i),
target.nr (01e vs 01g), and tyCoDrv.c (01j vs 01k).

although i agree that the 5.1 boot ROMs are perfectly adequate for
booting 5.2, there are enhancements and bug fixes in the BSP that are
useful.  i'm sending you the tar files for the 5.2 version i have.
