Hello all,
We should consider providing sharable libraries in addition to the
conventional static archival libraries in base/lib/sun4. This will
allow sites to specify the version of the core components of EPICS
(in base) that they will be using without relinking the epics tools
(in extensions). This should make switching between different versions
of EPICS base much easier.
Of course the choice of static/dynamic binding to the EPICS core
components should be a site specific option specified in the
config directory (note that -Bstatic can be turned on and off around
invocations of -lXXX).
