You can purchase a number of serial I/O boards that come with vxWorks
drivers. I know they exist because I have read about them in
comp.os.vxworks... but don't remember any of them at the moment.
You can get a number of serial ports using IP modules on an mvme162
running either vxWorks or HiDEOS. HiDEOS has serial and analog I/O
drivers. Check out
http://epics.aps.anl.gov/asd/controls/hideos/intro.html
for the details, docs, and sources. If you decide to go the HiDEOS
route, you will beed a BSP for your vxWorks that mapps memory in a sane
manner (the distribution BSP stinks.)
Some folks have been running vxWorks on the 162 with IP drivers. I
have no data on how that is going or what the costs are.
