The plans are to get rid of default.dctsdr and load all definitions from
ascii files. Look on WWW APS/EPICS/Work in Progress/Database Changes
for details. One problem is that dct would have to be extensively modified
to support changes. Thus it was my hope that we could get by without it.
My hope had been gdct. It is becoming clear, however, that there are problems
making it work on all the platforms to which epics is being ported.
Perhaps a solution is providing a tk tool that provides the same functionality
as dct.
Ultimately, however, we would like gdct working on all epics supported platforms.
