I have heard stories of a site (CEBAF I believe) which was having problems with
the Hytec 2992 serial CAMAC driver board (e.g. 50% infant mortality rates) but
then discovered something (strapping, board setup, software... ???) which cured
the problem.

We too are experiencing problems with the Hytec 2992's (command timeouts, not
taking demand interrupts, longitudinal parity errors, etc.) on an alarming
number of our newer boards.

Is the story true?  Is there a silver bullet?
