Hi all,
It seems that some of the changes I requested recently didn't make it into
the Beta9 distribution (although most did, I'm happy to say). I'm not sure
who is managing the various phases of the release, so to cover all bases, I'm
posting here.
Debugging continues & I havn't tested all components yet. However, with
these changes in the kit, the Alpha/OSF port will compile & successfully
install. caput/get, cau, and (most of) medm now function correctly with beta9
and these corrections. DCT and various database stuff remain on my 2do list
(those interested in full alpha support drop me a line for latest info).
------
config/CONFIG_SITE.Unix.alpha
MOTIF_LIB not defined. Causes VERY DIFFICULT TO DIAGNOSE problems!
Add line:-
MOTIF_LIB = /usr/lib
config/CONFIG.Unix.alpha
Changes to flex compilation options have revealed missing symbols for
the compiler. gmake will abort in src/toolsComm/flex/O.alpha with
garbage.
Add line:-
ACC_STRICT_INVOKE_W_YES = cc -std1 -w
base/src/ca/net_convert.h
Code conditional on CA_FLOAT_IEEE and CA_LITTLE_ENDIAN for the
macro definitions of ntohf,htonf,ntohd & ntond should specify
u_int rather than u_long. These symbols are the same on all
arch's _except_ Alpha/OSF using standard compiler switches.
(Jeff is aware of this).
