I am working on a port of Channel Access (CA) to WindowsNT to allow me to build
EPICS client applications for NT. These applications are for controlling the
Advanced Light Source at Lawrence Berkeley Lab.

I have ported Channel Access R11 (client side) to Windows NT as an NT
Dynamic Link
Library (DLL). I have also built Simple Channel Access (SCA) and used it to
enable
Labview 3.1 for NT to access data from a CA server (IOC). These DLL's only work
on Windows NT, they will not run on Windows 3.1. The DLL's were built using
Microsoft Visual C 2.0, but the makefiles havent been included with the EPICS
release just because of details like deciding where to stick them in the
directory structure.

I am still testing the R12 version, and Jeff Hill is adding my changes back
into the
release. It's possible that the testing will be finished by the end of the
month but
other duties may interfere as always.

The libraries are working well enough that anybody that wants to try them
out are
welcome, just remember that they are only for WindowsNT (though I am aiming to
get them working with Windows95).
