To all,

What I know --- which should not be confused with fact is ----

3.12 will have SunOs, HP/UX, VMS - UCX and Multinet support on the client
side.

We are only operational on the 680x0 families. This should be an easier port
now that we support loading ASCII databases directly. There is some interest
in the Alpha, but no significant progress yet.

There is a great deal of interest in a port to LynxOs. No work is done yet.
Wind River is willing to give us a deal where we purchase N number of single
user developer licenses for $5K each. We can also purchase bulk run-times.
The catch is that we need to say how many - up front. Then we allocate them as
new users join the EPICS collaboration. Anyone interested in this deal. Also -
in this deal there is no annual maintenance fee. The support comes from the
distributor of EPICS. Please let me know if anyone thinks this is worth
pursuing.

Jeff is now developing a portable CA server that will work with the version
3 protocol. It chould be complete in Beta form in the next week. A lot of
work was necessary to provide the conversions and event mechanisms outside
the database.
