It would be a mistake to *require* an incremental run time loading
option with a global name space from an OS before considering an EPICS
port to it... yah it would make things easier, but it would only serve
as a reason to procrastinate on the real issue. Like doing a posix
port to something like Solaris.
We do not need an incremental loader even today. So why require one.
The name space issue should be solved by rethinking the init process.
(No, I don't have any ideas at the moment, but probably will as the
SDR situation is reviewed for R4. The worst case solution would be
for us to implement our own -- similar to the way vxWorks builds the
one for their boot image perhaps.)
