Subject: MV167s and the 712M module

We currently have the MVME-167 (M68040) baselined as the standard
IOC CPU for Gemini and were wondering (since it's widely used in the EPICS
community) what the standard solutions are for dealing with mouuting of
the 712M I/F module that connects to the back of the backplane.

Bringing the ribbon cable around to front so the 712M can be
installed like any other 6U module seems to be a hassle and the standard
Heurikon enclosures (like the MSE/12) don't have a ready means of attaching
the unit to the enclosure. Most of our IOCs are mounted on the telescope
structure so the gravity vector _will_ be quite variable!

As long as I'm on the subject - is anyone planning on using the
new Heurikon M68060 based CPU?

Aloha,
	Peregrine
