Hi Andrew,

I am beginning my tour of epicsQT.
Thank you and your colleagues for developing this framework for developing applications.
I look forward to testing and integration here at SLAC.

I have already installed caQtDM and we have been trying it out as well.

In regards to epicsQT, I can't find info on INSTALL LOCATION in your "Getting Started Guide"
Typically, I will want to install the framework in "$EPICS_EXTENSIONS"
In other words, after the make I need some sort of make install and way to specify the install path for the executables. libraries, and plugins.

Also, the following question comes up about the EPICS CA Archiver.

============== From the Getting started Guide ===============================
Note, no matter how you deploy the framework, it may need to locate a Channel Access
archiver and will attempt to do so using the environment variable QE_ARCHIVE_LIST. The
following is a typical example of the command required to define this variable:
export QE_ARCHIVE_LIST=archiver.synchrotron.org.au:80/cgi-
bin/ArchiveDataServer1.cgi archiver.synchrotron.org.au:80/cgi-
bin/ArchiveDataServer2.cgi
=====================================================================

How to point our CA Archiver Data Server with?:
QE_ARCHIVE_LIST

Any ideas on this?

Cheers,
Ernest

We could ask Emmanuel. He uses the Archiver Appliance and EPICS QT; I'm sure he has solved this problem.

Regards,
Murali

Hi Murali,

I will want to connect the EPICS QT to your Archiver as well

Deploy the appropriate QE Framework components
There are hundreds of ways to deploy the QT based libraries and applications. Two simple alternatives are described below. Both enable the QEGui application and allow the QE Framework to be used as a library loaded by applications and as a Qt Plugin: Manual deployment Framework makefile
Note, no matter how you deploy the framework, it may need to locate a Channel Access archiver and will attempt to do so using the environment variable QE_ARCHIVE_LIST. The following is a typical example of the command required to define this variable: export QE_ARCHIVE_LIST=archiver.synchrotron.org.au:80/cgi-bin/ArchiveDataServer1.cgi archiver.synchrotron.org.au:80/cgi-bin/ArchiveDataServer2.cgi
